आप हम पाण्डवोंका समाचार बताते हुए हमारी माँसे मिलियेगा और प्रणाम करके पुत्रशोकसे पीड़ित हुई उस देवीको बहुत-बहुत आश्वासन दीजियेगा ।।

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |

āpāṇḍavānāṃ samācāraṃ vaditvā asmākaṃ mātaraṃ militvā praṇamya putraśoka-pīḍitāṃ tāṃ devīm atibahu āśvāsaya ||

ūḍhāt prabhṛti duḥkhāni śvaśurāṇām ariṃdama |

nikārān atad-arhā ca paśyantī duḥkham aśnute ||

śatrudamana! sā vivāhāt prabhṛti śvaśura-gṛhe nānā-vidhāni duḥkhāni kaṣṭāni ca dṛṣṭvā anubhūya idānīm api tatraiva kaṣṭam aśnute |

Translation

युधिष्ठिर म्हणाला— पांडवांचा समाचार सांगून आमच्या मातेला भेट. प्रणाम करून, पुत्रशोकाने पीडित त्या देवीला पुन्हा पुन्हा धीर दे. शत्रुदमना! विवाह झाल्यापासूनच श्वशुरांच्या घरी तिने अनेक प्रकारची दुःखे व अपमान पाहिले, जरी ती त्यास पात्र नव्हती; आणि आजही तेथेच क्लेश सहन करते.
