उद्योगपर्व — विदुरनीतिः (Adhyāya 37): आयुःक्षयहेतवः, नीतिसूत्राणि, बलभेदाः, पाण्डव-विग्रहदोषदर्शनम्
निरर्थ कलहं प्राज्ञो वर्जयेन्मूढसेवितम् । कीर्ति च लभते लोके न चानर्थेन युज्यते
nirartha-kalahaṁ prājño varjayen mūḍha-sevitam | kīrtiṁ ca labhate loke na cānarthena yujyate ||
प्राज्ञ पुरुषाने निरर्थक कलह टाळावा—विशेषतः जो मूर्खांनी पोसलेला व सेविलेला असतो. असे केल्याने त्याला लोकांत कीर्ती मिळते आणि तो अनर्थात गुंतत नाही.
