Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 34 — Vidura’s Counsel on Deliberation, Speech-Discipline, and Dharmic Kingship
yathā yathā hi puruṣaḥ kalyāṇe kurute manaḥ | tathā tathāsya sarvārthāḥ siddhyante nātra saṁśayaḥ ||
Directing one’s mind toward kalyāṇa—ethical and wholesome good—naturally leads to the accomplishment of one’s aims; inner moral intention is presented as the foundation of outer success.
In the Udyoga Parva’s counsel-filled context, Vidura speaks as a moral advisor, emphasizing that the decisive factor for a person’s outcomes is the mind’s steady commitment to the good.
