उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
राजा लक्षणसम्पन्नस्त्रैलोक्यस्यापि यो भवेत् | शिष्यस्ते शासिता सोडस्तु धृतराष्ट्र युधिष्ठिर:
rājā lakṣaṇasampannastrailokyasyāpi yo bhavet | śiṣyaste śāsitā soḍastu dhṛtarāṣṭra yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
विदुर म्हणाले— हे धृतराष्ट्र! एखादा राजा सर्व राजलक्षणांनी युक्त होऊन त्रैलोक्याचाही स्वामी झाला, तरी त्याने शिस्त व संयम स्वीकारला पाहिजे. युधिष्ठिर तुमचा शिष्य आहे—तो उपदेशाने चालणारा व शासनाने नियंत्रित होणारा आहे; म्हणून मोह सोडून मंत्रानुसारच राज्य चालवा.
