त एव मां महाराज स्वप्रदर्शनमेत्य वै | परिवारयत्रिवन् वाक्य तन्निबोध कुरूद्गबह,राजेन्द्र! ऐसी प्रार्थना करके बाणोंसे क्षत-विक्षत हुआ मैं रात्रिके अन्तमें प्रभातके समय दाहिनी करवटसे सो गया। महाराज! कुरुश्रेष्ठ! तत्पश्चात् जिन ब्राह्मणशिरोमणियोंने रथसे गिरनेपर मुझे थाम लिया और उठाया था तथा “डरो मत” ऐसा कहकर सान्त्वना दी थी, उन्हीं लोगोंने मुझे सपनेमें दर्शन दे मेरे चारों ओर खड़े होकर जो बात कही थी, उसे बताता हूँ, सुनो--
ta eva māṃ mahārāja svapradarśanam etya vai | parivārya trivan vākyaṃ tan nibodha kurūdgvaha ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—महाराज, तेच ब्राह्मण-ऋषी स्वप्नात मला दर्शन देऊन माझ्या चहूबाजूंनी उभे राहिले. कुरुश्रेष्ठा, त्यांनी जे वचन सांगितले ते ऐक.
