प्रतिज्ञां दुष्करां कृत्वा पितुरर्थे कुलस्य च । अराजा चोध्वरिताश्व यथा सुविदितं तव । प्रतीतो निवसाम्येष प्रतिज्ञामनुपालयन्
pratijñāṁ duṣkarāṁ kṛtvā pitur arthe kulasya ca | arājā codhvaritāśva yathā suviditaṁ tava | pratīto nivasāmy eṣa pratijñām anupālayan |
पित्यर्थ आणि कुलहितासाठी मी ती दुष्कर प्रतिज्ञा केली—राजा होणार नाही आणि ऊर्ध्वरेता (आजीवन नैष्ठिक ब्रह्मचारी) राहीन. हे तुला चांगलेच माहीत आहे; त्या प्रतिज्ञेचे पालन करीत मी येथे संतोषाने निवास करतो.
