Kuntī–Karṇa Saṃvāda: Lineage Disclosure and Appeal to Fraternal Dharma
चिन्तयन्ती बहुविधं हृदयेन विदूयता । बलाबलं च मन्त्राणां ब्राह्मणस्य च वाग्वलम्
cintayantī bahuvidhaṁ hṛdayena vidūyatā | balābalaṁ ca mantrāṇāṁ brāhmaṇasya ca vāgvalam, doṣaṁ pariharanti ca pituḥ snāritraya-rakṣiṇī | kathaṁ nu sukṛtaṁ me syān nāparādhavatī katham ||
वैशंपायन म्हणाले—हृदय दुःखाने जळत असताना ती अनेक प्रकारे विचार करू लागली. मंत्रांचे बल-अबल आणि ब्राह्मणवाणीचे प्रभावी सामर्थ्य ध्यानात घेऊन, सर्व संभाव्य दोष टाळीत व पित्याच्या दृष्टीत आपला सदाचार जपत ती म्हणाली—“मला पुण्य कसे लाभेल आणि मी अपराधिणी कशी ठरणार नाही?”
