Kṛṣṇa’s Conciliatory Address to Karṇa
धैर्यवान् और जितेन्द्रिय ब्राह्मण जिनके सहायक हैं, उन उग्र तपस्वी वीर पाण्डवको तुम कैसे जीत सकोगे? ।।
dhairyavān ca jitendriya-brāhmaṇā yeṣāṁ sahāyakāḥ, tān ugrān tapasvino vīrān pāṇḍavān tvaṁ kathaṁ jeṣyasi? punar uktaṁ ca vakṣyāmi yat kāryaṁ bhūtim icchatā—suhṛdā majjamāneṣu suhṛtsu vyasanārṇave; yathā pūrvam uktam api, tathāpi tad ahaṁ punaḥ vakṣyāmi.
ज्यांचे सहाय्य धैर्यवान व जितेंद्रिय ब्राह्मण आहेत, त्या उग्र तपस्वी वीर पांडवांना तू कसा जिंकशील? तरीही मी पुन्हा सांगतो—कल्याण इच्छिणाऱ्याने काय करावे: जेव्हा अनेक सुहृद् आपत्तीच्या समुद्रात बुडत असतात, तेव्हा हितैषी मित्राचे कर्तव्य असते की त्या वेळी जे आवश्यक आहे तेच बोलावे. पूर्वी सांगितले असले तरी मी तेच पुन्हा सांगतो.
