शत्रुं कृत्वा यः सहायं विश्वासमुपगच्छति । स न सम्भाव्यमेवैतद्‌ यद्‌ राज्यं प्राप्रुयादिति,जो शत्रुको सहायक बनाकर उसका विश्वास करता है, वह राज्य प्राप्त कर लेगा, इसकी कभी सम्भावना ही नहीं करनी चाहिये

śatruṁ kṛtvā yaḥ sahāyaṁ viśvāsam upagacchati | sa na sambhāvyam evaitad yad rājyaṁ prāpnuyād iti ||

जो शत्रूला सहाय्यक करून त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवतो, त्याने राज्यप्राप्तीची आशाही धरू नये. वैरावर उभा असलेला विश्वास नीतिसंगत नाही आणि स्थिर राज्यकारभाराचा पाया होऊ शकत नाही.
