The verse highlights karma-phala in a political-ethical frame: a prior act of giving (pradāna) yields visible, present results—secure kingship and an orderly realm. It implies that generosity and rightful support of dharmic heroes can mature into stability and sovereignty.
Vaiśampāyana points out to the listener that the current enjoyment of rule over the whole earth is the direct outcome of an earlier gift. The realm is described as ‘thornless’—its hostile obstacles removed—through the valor and victories of the Pāṇḍavas.
