न युद्धे तात कल्याणं न धर्मार्थों कुतः सुखम् । न चापि विजयो नित्यं मा युद्धे चेत आधिथा:,'तात! युद्ध करनेमें कल्याण नहीं है। उससे धर्म और अर्थकी भी प्राप्ति नहीं हो सकती, फिर सुख तो मिल ही कैसे सकता है? युद्धमें सदा विजय ही हो, यह भी निश्चित नहीं है; अत: उसमें मन न लगाओ
na yuddhe tāta kalyāṇaṃ na dharmārtho kutaḥ sukham | na cāpi vijayo nityaṃ mā yuddhe ceta ādhithāḥ ||
तात, युद्धात कल्याण नाही. त्यातून ना धर्म निश्चित मिळतो, ना अर्थ; मग सुख कुठून येईल? युद्धात विजय नेहमीच होईल असेही नाही; म्हणून युद्धाकडे मन लावू नकोस.
