उपेक्षिता हि नश्येयुगोंमिनो5रण्यवासिन: । तस्मात् तेषु विशेषेण मृदुपूर्व समाचरेत्
upekṣitā hi naśyeyur grāmiṇo ’raṇyavāsinaḥ | tasmāt teṣu viśeṣeṇa mṛdupūrvaṃ samācaret |
राजा जर त्यांच्या हानी-लाभाकडे दुर्लक्ष करून करभाराने त्यांना अधिक त्रास देईल, तर उपेक्षित होऊन ते राज्य सोडून पळून जातील आणि वनात राहू लागतील. म्हणून त्यांच्याशी विशेषतः प्रथम मृदूतेने वागावे.
