यमाश्रित्य नरा राजन वर्तयेयुर्यथासुखम् । अनाथास्तप्यमानाश्व दस्युभि: परिपीडिता:
yam āśritya narā rājan vartayeyur yathāsukham | anāthās tapyamānāś ca dasyubhiḥ paripīḍitāḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—राजन्! ज्याच्या आश्रयाने लोक सुखाने राहू शकतील तोच खरा आश्रयदाता. जे अनाथ, दुःखाने होरपळलेले आणि दरोडेखोरांनी पीडित आहेत, त्यांनी अशा रक्षकाला आपला बंधू मानून आनंदाने त्याचा सत्कार करावा; कारण, कुरुश्रेष्ठा! जो निर्भय होऊन वारंवार दुसऱ्यांचे संकट दूर करतो, तोच राजोचित मानास पात्र आहे.
