तानुवाच ततो देवो विहितस्तत्र वै मया । यथास्य भविता मृत्युरचिरेणेति भारत,भरतनन्दन! तब ब्रह्माजीने देवताओंसे कहा--“मैंने ऐसा विधान कर दिया है जिससे शीघ्र ही उस राक्षसकी मृत्यु हो जायगी
tān uvāca tato devo vihitas tatra vai mayā | yathāsya bhavitā mṛtyur acireṇeti bhārata ||
तेव्हा देव म्हणाला—“हे भारत! मी येथे असा विधिनिर्णय केला आहे की या प्राण्याचा मृत्यू लवकरच होईल.”
वायुदेव उवाच
That destructive forces are not allowed unlimited scope: a higher moral order (dharma) is safeguarded through divine ordinance, and wrongdoing carries an appointed end. The verse emphasizes timely restraint and justice rather than arbitrary violence.
