वैशम्पायन उवाच
True spiritual stature is shown through disciplined self-restraint (śama and dama) and through dharmic etiquette—completing one’s daily duties and honoring worthy guests with calm reverence.
After finishing their morning obligatory rites, two self-controlled sages respectfully receive and worship the sage Nārada by offering pādya (water for the feet) and arghya (honor-offering), following traditional norms of hospitality.
