निरुक्त वेदविदुषो वेदशब्दार्थचिन्तका: । ते मां गायन्ति प्राग्वंशे अधोक्षज इति स्थिति:,वेदोंके शब्द और अर्थपर विचार करनेवाले वेदवेत्ता विद्वान प्राग्वंश (यज्ञशालाके एक भाग) में बैठकर अधोक्षज नामसे मेरी महिमाका गान करते हैं; इसलिये भी मेरा नाम 'अधोक्षज' है

Transliteration

nirukta-vedaviduṣo veda-śabdārtha-cintakāḥ | te māṃ gāyanti prāgvaṃśe adhokṣaja iti sthitiḥ ||

Translation

निरुक्तात निपुण, वेदविद् आणि वेदशब्दार्थचिंतन करणारे पंडित प्राग्वंशात बसून ‘अधोक्षज’ या नावाने माझी महिमा गातात; म्हणून वेदस्तुती व अर्थबोधाच्या आधारावर माझे नाव ‘अधोक्षज’ असेच सिद्ध झाले आहे.
