ततो मुहुर्त संचिन्त्य निश्चितां गतिमात्मन: । परावरज्ञो धर्मस्य परां नै:श्रेयसीं गतिम्,तदनन्तर उन्होंने दो घड़ीतक अपनी निश्चित गतिके विषयमें विचार किया; फिर भूत और भविष्यके ज्ञाता शुकदेवजीको अपने धर्मकी कल्याणमयी परम गतिका निश्चय हो गया
tato muhūrtaṃ saṃcintya niścitāṃ gatim ātmanaḥ | parāvarajño dharmasya parāṃ naiḥśreyasīṃ gatim ||
त्यानंतर त्यांनी थोडा वेळ आपल्या निश्चित केलेल्या गतीचा विचार केला. परावराचा ज्ञाता आणि धर्ममार्गाचा मर्मज्ञ होऊन त्यांनी धर्माची परम कल्याणकारी—नैःश्रेयसी—गती दृढपणे निश्चित केली.
