Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)
atha pañcadaśo rājan guṇas tatrāparaḥ smṛtaḥ | pṛthakkalāsamūhasya sāmagrīyaṃ tad ihocyate ||
The verse teaches that beyond possessing many separate skills, a higher virtue is their sāmagrī—completeness and coordinated integration—so that diverse arts function together effectively and responsibly.
Bhīṣma continues a structured enumeration of qualities (guṇas) while instructing the king, introducing an additional item: the integrated sufficiency of a set of distinct arts and competencies.
