शुकस्य योगसिद्धिः (Śuka’s Yogic Attainment and Ascent)
एवमुक्त: स वैदेहं प्रत्युवाचापरोक्षवित् । निवृत्तिर्न तयोरस्ति नानिवृत्ति: कथठ्चन
evam uktaḥ sa vaidehaṁ pratyuvāca aparokṣavit | nivṛttir na tayor asti nānivṛttiḥ kathaṁcana ||
असे विचारल्यावर अपरोक्ष ज्ञानसंपन्न महर्षी पंचशिखांनी विदेहराजाला उत्तर दिले—“जरा आणि मृत्यू यांची पूर्ण निवृत्ती नाही; पण कोणत्याही प्रकारे त्यांची निवृत्ती होऊच शकत नाही असेही नाही. धन-ऐश्वर्याने ते टळत नाहीत; परंतु ज्ञानाने पुनर्जन्माचा फेराच निवृत्त होतो—मग जरा-मृत्यूची काय कथा!”
