Utkramaṇa-sthāna and Ariṣṭa-lakṣaṇa: Yājñavalkya’s Instruction on Departure Pathways and Mortality Signs

ऋते तु पुरुष नेह स्त्री गर्भ धारयत्युत । ऋते स्त्रियं न पुरुषो रूप॑ निर्वर्त येत्‌ तथा

ṛte tu puruṣa neha strī garbhaṃ dhārayaty uta | ṛte striyaṃ na puruṣo rūpaṃ nirvartayeta tathā ||

जनक म्हणाले—या जगात पुरुषावाचून स्त्री गर्भ धारण करू शकत नाही; तसेच स्त्रीवाचून पुरुषही कोणतेही देहरूप प्रकट करू शकत नाही. म्हणून देहधारी जीवन परस्परावलंबनातूनच उत्पन्न होते; एकट्या कोणाच्या स्वतंत्र कर्तृत्वातून नव्हे.
