पिता गुरु्न संदेहो वेदविद्याप्रद: प्रभु: अतो भार्गव इत्युक्त मया गोत्र तवान्तिके,“इसमें संदेह नहीं कि वेद और विद्याका दान करनेवाला शक्तिशाली गुरु पिताके ही तुल्य है; इसलिये मैंने आपके निकट अपना गोत्र भार्गव बताया है”
pitā gurau na saṁdeho vedavidyāpradaḥ prabhuḥ | ato bhārgava ity uktaṁ mayā gotraṁ tavāntike ||
यात संशय नाही—वेद व विद्या देणारा समर्थ गुरु पित्याच्या समानच असतो; म्हणून तुमच्या सान्निध्यात मी माझे गोत्र ‘भार्गव’ असे सांगितले.
