Śoka-śamana: Kṛṣṇa’s Consolation and Nārada’s Exempla to Sṛñjaya
Chapter 29
महता रथघोषेण पृथिवीमनुनादयन्
mahatā rathaghoṣeṇa pṛthivīm anunādayan
महान रथघोषाने तो पृथ्वीला निनादित करीत होता.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse uses the metaphor of a thunderous chariot-sound shaking the earth to convey the moral idea that true potency—especially when aligned with dharma—has an unmistakable, world-impacting presence; it is not merely private strength but a force that reverberates through the moral and cosmic order.
Vāyudeva describes (or evokes) a moment of dramatic movement and proclamation: the chariot’s tremendous roar reverberates so strongly that it seems to make the very earth echo, heightening the scene’s intensity and signaling the arrival or action of a powerful agent.
