कृतकौतूहलस्तेषु मुक्तश्नवर यथासुखम्‌ । 'शास्त्र-विधिके अनुसार इन्द्रियोंद्वारा इन्द्रियोंके विषयोंका अनुभव करके जब तुम उनके खेलको पूरा कर चुको

kṛtakautūhalas teṣu muktaśnavar yathāsukham | śāstra-vidhike anusāra indriyaiḥ indriyaviṣayān anubhavya yadā tvaṁ teṣāṁ krīḍāṁ pūrayitvā, santānaṁ jātaṁ vā na vā, tataḥ muktaḥ sukhapūrvaṁ vicara ||

भीष्म म्हणाले—शास्त्रविधीनुसार इंद्रियांद्वारे विषयांचा यथासुख अनुभव करून, जेव्हा त्यांतील कुतूहल तृप्त होईल आणि त्यांचा ‘खेळ’ संपेल—संतान झाली तरी वा न झाली तरी—तेव्हा त्यांपासून मुक्त होऊन सुखाने विचर.
