चिरकारि-उपाख्यानम् / The Exemplum of Cirakārī: Deliberation Before Irreversible Action
सर्व प्रियाभ्युपगतं धर्ममाहुर्मनीषिण: । पश्यैतं लक्षणोद्देशं धर्माधर्मे युधिछ्ठिर
sarva-priyābhyupagataṁ dharmam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ | paśyaitaṁ lakṣaṇoddeśaṁ dharmādharmayoḥ yudhiṣṭhira ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—मनीषी पुरुष सांगतात की सर्वांशी प्रेमपूर्ण सद्भावाने जे वर्तन केले जाते, तेच धर्म होय. हे युधिष्ठिर, धर्म-अधर्म ओळखण्याचे हे संक्षिप्त लक्षण पाहा: जे सर्वसामान्य हितभाव व प्रेमास अनुरूप, ते धर्म; आणि जे त्याच्या विरुद्ध, ते अधर्म।
