धमखियानेषु सर्वेषु सत्याख्याने च यद्‌ वसु । दशेदमृक्सहस्राणि निर्मथ्यामृतमुद्भुतम्‌

Transliteration

vyāsa uvāca | dharmākhyāneṣu sarveṣu satyākhyāne ca yad vasu | daśedam ṛk-sahasrāṇi nirmathyāmṛtam adbhutam | yathā kūrma ihāṅgāni prasārya viniyacchati | evam evendriya-grāmaṃ buddhiḥ sṛṣṭvā niyacchati |

Translation

व्यास म्हणाले—धर्म व सत्य सांगणाऱ्या सर्व आख्यानांत हेच सारभूत धन आहे. ऋग्वेदातील दहा हजार ऋचांचे मंथन करून हे अद्भुत अमृत काढले गेले आहे. जसा कासव आपले अवयव पसरवून पुन्हा आत ओढून घेतो, तशीच बुद्धी इंद्रियसमूहाला विषयांकडे प्रवृत्त करून पुन्हा आवरून मागे खेचते.
