Adhyāya 240: Indriya–Manas–Buddhi–Ātman — The Inner Hierarchy and Restraint (इन्द्रिय-मनस्-बुद्धि-आत्म-क्रमः)

कुर्यात्‌ परिचयं योगे त्रैकाल्ये नियतो मुनि: । गिरिश्‌ज्ञे तथा चैत्ये वृक्षाग्रेषु च योजयेत्‌

kur yāt paricayaṃ yoge traikālye niyato muniḥ | giriśṛṅge tathā caitye vṛkṣāgreṣu ca yojayet | sattvasaṃsevanād dhīro nidrām ucchettum arhati |

व्यास म्हणाले—नियमबद्ध मुनिने त्रिकाळ (सकाळ, दुपार, संध्याकाळ) योगाचा सतत अभ्यास करून त्यात दृढ परिचय करावा. पर्वतशिखरांवर, देवालय-तीर्थस्थानी आणि वृक्षांच्या टोकांवर—जिथे एकांत व जागरूकता वाढते—तेथे साधना करावी. सत्त्वगुणाच्या सेवनाने धीर पुरुष निद्रा-आळसाचा उच्छेद करण्यास योग्य होतो आणि साधनेतील विघ्ने दूर करतो.
