योग–सांख्यसमन्वयः, रथोपमा, व्यक्त–अव्यक्तविवेकः

अधीयतेडव्रता: केचिद्‌ वृथा व्रतमथापरे,कुछ लोग ब्रह्मचर्य-व्रतका पालन किये बिना ही वेदोंका स्वाध्याय करते हैं, कुछ लोग व्यर्थ (अवैदिक) व्रतका आचरण करते हैं

adhīyate ’davratāḥ kecid vṛthā vratam athāpare

काही जण ब्रह्मचर्यादि योग्य व्रत न पाळताच वेदांचा स्वाध्याय करतात; तर काही जण उलट निरर्थक, अवैदिक व्रतांत गुंततात. अशा रीतीने संयमाविना विद्या आणि शास्त्रमार्गाविना तप—दोन्हीही धर्माच्या खऱ्या पथाला चुकतात.
