ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana

काल पश्यति सुव्यक्ते पाणावामलकं यथा । कालचारित्रतत्त्वज्ञ: सर्वशास्त्रविशारद:
kālaṁ paśyati suvyakte pāṇāv āmalakaṁ yathā | kālacāritra-tattvajñaḥ sarvaśāstra-viśāradaḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—तू काळाला तितक्याच स्पष्टपणे पाहतोस, जसे हाताच्या तळहातावर ठेवलेले आवळे. तू काळाच्या स्वभाव-लीलेचा तत्त्वज्ञ असून सर्व शास्त्रांत पारंगत आहेस.
