Śānti-parva 206: Guṇa-hetu Moha, Kāma-krodha Chain, Indriya-utpatti, and Nirodha
अदृष्टतो<नुपायाच्च प्रतिसंधेश्व॒ कर्मण: । न तेन मर्त्या: पश्यन्ति येन गच्छन्ति तत् पदम्
adṛṣṭato'nupāyāc ca pratisaṃdheṣu karmaṇaḥ | na tena martyāḥ paśyanti yena gacchanti tat padam ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—तो मार्ग प्रत्यक्ष दिसत नाही, त्याची साधनेही कळत नाहीत, आणि कर्म अनेक गुंतागुंतीत अडकते; म्हणून मर्त्यांना तो पथ दिसत नाही ज्याने परम पद प्राप्त होते. दुर्दैव, साधनांचा अभाव आणि कर्मफळाची आसक्ती यांमुळे लोक परमात्म्यापर्यंत नेणारा मार्ग ओळखू शकत नाहीत.
