चतुष्पदी हि नि:श्रेणी ब्रह्मण्येव प्रतिष्ठिता । तां क्रमेण महाबाहो यथावज्जय पार्थिव
catuṣpadī hi niḥśreṇī brahmaṇy eva pratiṣṭhitā | tāṁ krameṇa mahābāho yathāvaj jaya pārthiva ||
महाबाहु पार्थिवा! ब्रह्मचर्य, गार्हस्थ्य, वानप्रस्थ आणि संन्यास—हे चार आश्रम ब्रह्मप्राप्तीची चार पायरी आहेत; वेदात त्यांची प्रतिष्ठा आहे. म्हणून तू त्यांना क्रमाने, यथाविधी, पार कर।
