On Gratitude and Friendship Ethics
तस्मिन् गिरिवरे पुत्र पुष्पितद्रुमकानने । तस्थौ स विबुधश्रेष्ठो ब्रह्मा लोकार्थसिद्धये,बेटा नकुल! जहाँके वृक्ष और वन फूलोंसे भरे हुए थे, उस श्रेष्ठ पर्वतशिखरपर सुरश्रेष्ठ ब्रह्माजी सम्पूर्ण जगत्का कार्य सिद्ध करनेके लिये ठहर गये
tasmin girivare putra puṣpitadrumakānane | tasthau sa vibudhaśreṣṭho brahmā lokārthasiddhaye ||
हे पुत्रा! पुष्पित वृक्षांनी भरलेल्या त्या वनयुक्त श्रेष्ठ पर्वतावर देवश्रेष्ठ ब्रह्मदेव लोकांच्या हितसिद्धीसाठी तेथे स्थिर झाले.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights divine action undertaken for lokārtha—purpose and welfare of the worlds—suggesting that true authority and power are meant to serve cosmic order and the common good rather than private ends.
Bhīṣma addresses Nakula and describes Brahmā arriving at and remaining upon a splendid mountain covered with flowering groves, staying there to accomplish a task connected with the welfare and proper functioning of the worlds.
