Tapas as the Root of Attainment (तपः—साधनमूलप्रशंसा)
तथैव मृगजातीभिरन्याभिरभिशो भसे । तथा सर्वाधिवासैश्व शोभसे मेरुवद्द्रुम,“वृक्षप्रवर! इसी प्रकार दूसरी-दूसरी जातिके पशु भी तुम्हारी शोभा बढ़ा रहे हैं। तुम सबके निवास-स्थान होनेके कारण मेरुपर्वतके समान सुशोभित होते हो
tathaiva mṛgajātībhiḥ anyābhiḥ abhiśobhase | tathā sarvādhivāsaiś ca śobhase meruvad drumam ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—वृक्षप्रवर! तसेच विविध जातींचे मृग व इतर वन्य प्राणीही तुझी शोभा वाढवितात. आणि सर्वांसाठी निवासस्थान असल्यामुळे तू मेरुपर्वतासारखा तेजस्वी दिसतोस.
