भीष्म उवाच शृणु पार्थ यथावृत्तमितिहासं पुरातनम् । गृध्रजम्बुकसंवादं यो वृत्तो नैमिषे पुरा
bhīṣma uvāca: śṛṇu pārtha yathāvṛttam itihāsaṃ purātanam | gṛdhra-jambuka-saṃvādaṃ yo vṛtto naimiṣe purā ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—हे पार्था! जसा घडला तसाच प्राचीन, सत्य इतिहास ऐक. पूर्वी नैमिषारण्यात गिधाड व कोल्हा यांचा जो संवाद झाला, तो हा पुरातन आख्यान आहे.
