Daṇḍa as the Foundation of Social Order (दण्डप्रतिष्ठा)
चातुर्वर्ण्यप्रमोदाय सुनीतिनयनाय च । दण्डो विधात्रा विहितो धर्मार्थो भुवि रक्षितुम्
cāturvarṇya-pramodāya sunīti-nayanāya ca | daṇḍo vidhātrā vihito dharmārtho bhuvi rakṣitum ||
चारही वर्णांच्या कल्याण व संतोषासाठी आणि सुनीतीने लोकांना मार्गदर्शन व्हावे म्हणून, विधात्याने धर्मरूप दंड नेमला आहे—पृथ्वीचे रक्षण व्हावे म्हणून।
