त्रिवर्गमूलनिश्चयः — Determining the Roots of Dharma, Artha, and Kāma
Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 123
वेदा: प्रतिष्ठा ज्योतिर्भ्यस्ततो हयशिरा: प्रभु: । ब्रह्मा पितामहस्तस्माज्जागर्ति प्रभुरव्यय:
vedāḥ pratiṣṭhā jyotirbhyaḥ tato hayaśirāḥ prabhuḥ | brahmā pitāmahastasmāj jāgarti prabhuravyayaḥ ||
वसुःहरोमा म्हणाला—ज्योतींपासून दंडाचा आधार मिळून वेद प्रतिष्ठित होतात. वेदांपासून प्रभु हयग्रीव प्रकट होतो आणि हयग्रीवापासून अविनाशी प्रभु पितामह ब्रह्मा उत्पन्न होतो. तो दंड—अनुशासन व शासन—प्राप्त करून लोकांची रक्षा व व्यवस्था यासाठी सदैव जागा राहतो.
