Ānṛśaṃsya, Amātya-Guṇa, and Reconciliatory Counsel (आनृशंस्य–अमात्यगुण–संधि-उपदेशः)
तत आहूय वैदेहं मुनिर्वचनमत्रवीत् । अयं राजकुले जातो विदिताभ्यन्तरो मम
tata āhūya vaidehaṃ munir vacanam abravīt | ayaṃ rājākule jāto viditābhyantaro mama ||
त्यानंतर मुनींनी विदेह-नरेश जनकांना बोलावून असे म्हटले—“राजन्! हा राजकुमार राजवंशात जन्मलेला आहे; याच्या अंतरंगाचीही मला माहिती आहे.”
भीष्म उवाच
True fitness for kingship is not merely a matter of royal birth; the wise assess and know a person’s inner character (abhyantara). Ethical authority rests on discernment of conduct and disposition.
A sage summons Vaideha (Janaka) and informs him about a prince—stating that the prince is of royal lineage and that the sage knows his inner affairs—setting up guidance or judgment grounded in intimate knowledge of character.
