उपतस्थुर्महात्मानं कार्तिकेयं यशस्विनम् | वे अपने अंगोंमें छोटी-छोटी घंटियोंसे युक्त जालीदार वस्त्र पहने हुए थे। उनमें महान् ओज भरा था। नरेश्वर! वे हर्षमें भरकर नृत्य कर रहे थे। ये तथा और भी बहुत-से महापार्षदगण यशस्वी महात्मा कार्तिकेयकी सेवामें उपस्थित हुए थे
upatasthur mahātmānaṁ kārtikeyaṁ yaśasvinam |
वैशंपायन म्हणाले—यशस्वी महात्मा कार्तिकेयाच्या सेवेसाठी अनेक अनुचर व महापार्षद पुढे येऊन उपस्थित झाले. त्यांच्या अंगावर लहान-लहान घंटिकांनी युक्त जाळीदार वस्त्रे होती; ते महाओजस्वी होते. हे नरेशा! हर्षाने भरून ते नृत्य करीत, भक्तिभावाने त्याच्या सेवेत उभे राहिले.
