वृकगृध्रशृगालानां तुमुले मोदने5हनि । आसीद्ू बलक्षयो घोरस्तव पुत्रस्य पश्यत:,भेड़ियों, गीधों और सियारोंका आनन्द बढ़ानेवाले उस भयंकर दिनमें आपके पुत्रकी आँखोंके सामने कौरव-सेनाका घोर संहार हुआ
vṛka-gṛdhra-śṛgālānāṃ tumule modane 'hani | āsīd balakṣayo ghoras tava putrasya paśyataḥ ||
लांडगे, गिधाडे आणि कोल्हे यांच्या उन्मत्त आनंदाने गाजलेल्या त्या भयंकर दिवशी, तुमच्या पुत्राच्या डोळ्यांसमोरच तुमच्या सैन्याचा घोर संहार झाला.
