शक््त्या जयसि राज्ञो<न्यानृषीन् धर्मोपसेवया । ऐन्द्रे जये धृतमना याम्ये कोपविधारणे
śaktyā jayasi rājño 'nyān ṛṣīn dharmopasevayā | aindre jaye dhṛtamanā yāmye kopavidhāraṇe ||
विदुर म्हणाला—शक्तीने तू इतर राजांना जिंकू शकतोस; आणि धर्मसेवेने ऋषींनाही जिंकू शकतोस. इंद्राच्या क्षेत्रात विजय मिळाल्यावर मन स्थिर ठेव; आणि यमाच्या क्षेत्रात क्रोध आवरून धर.
