Vidura’s Report and Portents
एवमुकक््त्वा धृतराष्ट्रो मनीषी हितान्वेषी बान्धवानामपायात् | कृष्णां पाञ्चालीमब्रवीत् सानन््त्वपूर्व विमृश्यैतत् प्रज्ञया तत्त्वबुद्धि:,ऐसा कहकर बन्धु-बान्धवोंको विनाशसे बचाकर उनके हितकी इच्छा रखनेवाले तत्त्वदर्शी एवं मेधावी राजा धृतराष्ट्रने अपनी बुद्धिसे इस दुःखद प्रसंगपर विचार करके पांचालराजकुमारी कृष्णाको सान्त्वना देते हुए इस प्रकार कहा--
evam uktvā dhṛtarāṣṭro manīṣī hitānveṣī bāndhavānām apāyāt | kṛṣṇāṃ pāñcālīm abravīt sāntvapurvaṃ vimṛśyaitat prajñayā tattvabuddhiḥ ||
असे बोलून, बांधवांचे हित शोधणारे व त्यांचा विनाश टाळू इच्छिणारे बुद्धिमान धृतराष्ट्र यांनी या दुःखद प्रसंगाचा प्रज्ञेने विचार केला. मग पाञ्चाली कृष्णेला सान्त्वना देत ते असे म्हणाले।
