Bhīṣma–Śiśupāla-saṃvādaḥ
Bhishma and Shishupala’s exchange in the assembly
न त्वहं तव धर्मज्ञ पश्याम्युपचयं क्वचित् | नहि ते सेविता वृद्धा य एवं धर्ममब्रवी:,धर्मज्ञ भीष्म! मैं तुम्हारी कहीं कोई उन्नति भी तो नहीं देख रहा हूँ। मेरा तो विश्वास है, तुमने ज्ञानवृद्ध पुरुषोंका कभी संग नहीं किया है। तभी तो तुम ऐसे धर्मका उपदेश करते हो
na tv ahaṃ tava dharmajña paśyāmy upacayaṃ kvacit | nahi te sevitā vṛddhā ya evaṃ dharmam abravīḥ ||
धर्मज्ञ भीष्मा! तुझ्यात मला कुठेही खरी उन्नती दिसत नाही. निश्चयच तू ज्ञानवृद्ध ज्येष्ठांचा सहवास-सेवा केली नाहीस; म्हणूनच तू असा धर्म उपदेश करीत आहेस.
