अहं सखा महेन्द्रस्य शक्रादनवरो रणे । न शक्ष्यामि च ते तात स्थातुं प्रमुखतो युधि
ahaṃ sakhā mahendrasya śakrād anavaro raṇe | na śakṣyāmi ca te tāta sthātuṃ pramukhato yudhi ||
वैशंपायन म्हणाले— “मी महेंद्र (इंद्र) यांचा मित्र आहे आणि रणात शक्रापेक्षा कमी नाही; तरीही, बाळा, युद्धाच्या अग्रभागी तुझ्यासमोर उभा राहू शकणार नाही.”
