विषयेषु निमग्नस्य तस्य यौवनमभ्यगात्‌,विषयोंमें डूबे हुए राजाकी सारी जवानी बीत गयी, परंतु उन्हें कोई वंश चलानेवाला पुत्र नहीं प्राप्त हुआ। उन श्रेष्ठ नरेशने बहुत-से मांगलिक कृत्य, होम और पुत्रेष्टियज्ञ कराये, तो भी उन्हें वंशकी वृद्धि करनेवाले पुत्रकी प्राप्ति नहीं हुई

viṣayeṣu nimagnasya tasya yauvanam abhyagāt |

विषयभोगात निमग्न असलेल्या त्या राजाची सारी तारुण्यावस्था निघून गेली; तरीही वंश चालविणारा पुत्र त्याला मिळाला नाही. त्याने अनेक मांगलिक कर्मे, होम आणि पुत्रेष्टी यज्ञ केले, तरीही कुलवर्धक पुत्रप्राप्ती झाली नाही।
