अन्यस्मै देहि गाण्डीवमिति मां योडभिचोदयेत्‌

Transliteration

anyasmai dehi gāṇḍīvam iti māṁ yo 'bhi-codayet | tasya śiraś chindiyām iti mayā manasi pratijñātam | ananta-parākrama govinda! tvat-sannidhau eva eṣa mahārājaḥ mām etad avadat; tasmād enaṁ na kṣamāmi | imaṁ dharma-bhīruṁ nṛpaṁ haniṣyāmi ||

Translation

संजय म्हणाला—जो मला म्हणेल, ‘गाण्डीव दुसऱ्याला दे,’ त्याचे शिर छाटीन—अशी प्रतिज्ञा मी मनात केली आहे। अनंत पराक्रमी गोविंद! तुमच्या समक्षच या महाराजाने मला तेच शब्द सांगितले; म्हणून मी याला क्षमा करू शकत नाही। धर्मभयाने वागणाऱ्या या नरेशाचाही मी वध करीन।
