कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira
तस्माद् भवान् परं धर्म वेद सर्व यथातथम् । तीनों लोकोंमें कहीं कोई भी ऐसी बात नहीं है जो आपको विदित न हो; अत: आप ही परम धर्मको सम्पूर्ण और यथार्थरूपसे जानते हैं ।।
tasmād bhavān paraṃ dharma veda sarvaṃ yathātatham | avadhyaṃ pāṇḍavaṃ manye dharmarājaṃ yudhiṣṭhiram |
अर्जुन म्हणाला—म्हणूनच तुम्ही परम धर्म सर्वथा यथार्थ रीतीने जाणता. मी पांडव धर्मराज युधिष्ठिराला वधास योग्य मानत नाही. म्हणून माझ्या या प्रतिज्ञेबाबत असा काही अनुग्रहाचा उपाय सांगा की भावाचा वध न करता माझी प्रतिज्ञा टिकून राहील.
