Educational Q&A

The verse underscores how extraordinary personal capability can decisively shape outcomes in war, yet it also points to the moral tension of battlefield duty: power is exercised not for private ends but within the harsh obligations and consequences of kshatriya-dharma.

Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that Karna, alone, halted the forward movement of the Pandava-aligned forces—Panchalas, Draupadi’s five sons, Yudhamanyu, and the great warrior Satyaki—preventing them from advancing further.
