The verse highlights the kṣatriya context of dharma in war: righteous action may involve fierce energy and controlled wrath when directed toward protecting justice and defeating aggression. It also underscores the moral contrast between inner radiance (tejas) and outward violence—power is portrayed as purposeful, not merely destructive.
Sañjaya describes Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna after they have broken into the enemy formation. In the thick of the opposing host, the pair appear dazzling and formidable—angry, red-eyed, and blazing with martial splendor as they press the battle forward.
