कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line

आराधयिततवान्‌ शर्व बहून्‌ वर्षगणांस्तदा । दुर्योधन कहता हैं--तदनन्तर परशुरामने बहुत वर्षोतक तपस्या

ārādhayitavān śarvaṁ bahūn varṣa-gaṇāṁs tadā |

दुर्योधन म्हणाला—“तेव्हा त्याने अनेक वर्षे शर्व (शिव) यांची आराधना केली.” तपस्या, इंद्रियसंयम, मनोनिग्रह, पूजा, उपहार-अर्पण, होम आणि मंत्रजप अशा साधनांनी त्याने भगवान् शिवांना प्रसन्न केले—दीर्घकालीन शिस्त व भक्तीने.
