यथा शल्य विजानीषे एवमेतदसंशयम्‌ । अभिप्रायस्तु मे कश्चित्‌ तं निबोध जनेश्वर,“महाराज शल्य! आप अपने विषयमें जैसा समझते हैं ऐसी ही बात है, इसमें तनिक भी संशय नहीं है। मेरा कोई और ही अभिप्राय है, उसे ध्यान देकर सुनिये

yathā śalya vijānīṣe evam etad asaṁśayam | abhiprāyas tu me kaścit taṁ nibodha janeśvara ||

तो म्हणाला—हे महाराज शल्य, तुम्ही जसे समजता तसेच आहे; यात संशय नाही. पण माझा एक वेगळाच अभिप्राय आहे; हे जनाधिप, तो लक्ष देऊन ऐका।
