दक्षिणे तु महाराज सुषेण: सत्यसंगर: । वृतो रथसहस्रेण दन्तिनां च त्रिभि: शतै:,महाराज! दाहिने पैरके पिछले भागमें एक सहख्र रथियों और तीन सौ हाथियोंसे घिरे हुए सत्यप्रतिज्ञ सुषेण खड़े किये गये
dakṣiṇe tu mahārāja suṣeṇaḥ satyasaṅgaraḥ | vṛto rathasahasreṇa dantināṃ ca tribhiḥ śataiḥ ||
संजय म्हणाला—महाराज! उजव्या पार्श्वभागी सत्यसंगर सुषेण तैनात होता; एक हजार रथ आणि तीनशे हत्ती यांनी तो वेढलेला होता.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya discipline and the ethical ideal of steadfastness to one’s vow (satya) even amid war: commanders are characterized not only by numbers and arms but also by reliability and resolve in battle.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra the deployment of forces: on the right wing, the warrior Suṣeṇa is positioned, protected and supported by a large contingent—one thousand chariots and three hundred elephants—indicating a strong, organized flank.
